Getting the Size Right (This Is Where People Go Wrong)

Sizes run from 24x18 up to 40x30 and larger. Here's the rule that never fails: art should span roughly two-thirds the width of the furniture below it. Over a standard sofa, that means 40 inches wide, not 24. Over a nightstand or in a hallway, 24x18 is perfect.
Then hang it at eye level — the center of the piece around 57 to 60 inches from the floor, with 6 to 10 inches of clearance above any furniture. Slightly lower than instinct tells you. Trust us on this.
